A new Easter kids camp connecting kids with nature has been launched in Port of Menteith, promising a cracking day of wildlife, wilderness and woodcraft.
Following on from the success of their ‘meet the goats’ and ‘foraging for your own pizza topping’ experiences, smallholders Kat Goldin and Kevin Harrison have now created ‘Wild Wonder Wednesdays’.
The two camps, on 8th and 15th April, at Gartur Stitch Farm will introduce kids 8 and up to the wonders of nature and teach them some ancient skills to boot.
Kat Goldin said: “We’ll go on mud squelching meanders and try our hand at a variety of medieval activities from floral foraging, wild cooking, fire starting and encampment building to weaving, charcoal alchemy and rush rope making. The kids will pick up nature-based life skills to last a lifetime.”
Wild Wonder Wednesdays will be delivered by experienced staff from Hushwing Ranger Service, Herbal Homestead and Trossachs Biking & Bushcraft.
When? 8 April 2020 and 15 April 2020, 9.30am to 4.30pm.
Who? Kids from age 8 upwards.
