The competition is hotting up in a public poll to uncover Forth Valley’s Favourite Business.

The online vote, organised by Forth Valley Chamber of Commerce, invites members of the public to vote for their favourite Stirling, Falkirk or Clackmannanshire based business:  http://www.forthvalleychamber.com/poll

Stirling firm Bespoke Catering and Events currently tops the poll with 340 votes. Stirling Gin is in second place with 238 votes, closely followed by Falkirk retailer Missy Magpie with 226 votes. Hot on the heels of the top three are Falkirk firm Maley’s Artisan Chocolates with 210 votes.

The winner will be announced on Thursday 21 September 2017 at the Chamber’s 2017 Business Awards at Dunblane Hydro, when the organisation will also celebrate its 5th birthday.

Michelle McKearnon, CEO of Forth Valley Chamber said: “To mark our 5th birthday, we wanted to do something a bit different. This is the first time an award category will be decided by public vote. We’ve seen a lot of love for our local businesses, with more than 40 companies nominated and over 1700 votes cast so far. We’ll be closing the contest to new nominations next Friday, so if your favourite business isn’t on the list please don’t delay!”

There’s also just over a week until entries close for the Chamber’s other award categories: Best Start-Up Business (less than two years), Best Micro Business (fewer than 10 employees), Best Small Business (10-50 employees), Best Large Business (over 51 employees), Excellence in Customer Service, Business Leader, Best Family Business and Developing the Young Workforce. This year also sees the addition of a new award Business for Good, to recognise companies with a positive social impact.

Bridge of Allan based Angel’s Share Glass picked up two awards in 2016, Best Micro Business and Most Innovative Product or Service. Karen Sommerville said: “Winning both awards last year was a huge honour, we didn’t expect to win one award never mind two. As growing business it is really important to be recognised in Forth Valley. Winning these accolades has been a huge help to our business and has brought us more local and national opportunities.”

Winner of Excellence in Customer Service in 2016, Falkirk based firm Rooftec said: “Winning a Forth Valley Chamber of Commerce Award was fantastic; it really boosted our team morale and gave well deserved recognition to our staff who work hard all year round. It was the perfect opportunity for everyone to let their hair down and celebrate how far we have come which can sometimes can be forgotten about in the normal day to day. The evening itself was a lavish event with inspiring guest speakers, great food and great company; definitely not one to be missed.”

The deadline for all entries is midnight on Friday 23 June, with judging taking place in August. For full details see: http://www.forthvalleychamber.com/business-awards
